Use Of Low Power Laser In Acupuncture

This article was written by Lim Choon Huat Rodney published by WFAS 2001 Spore

The history of Low Power in Acupuncture and Medicine is relatively short of less than 50 years compare to the use of Herbs and Antibiotic. One of the reasons for lack of use of Laser in Acupuncture is the understanding of tis mechanism is not fully understood.

This wonderful modality will be put on the shelf if none of our Physicians and Acupuncturiests are interested to use the Laser and research it. It is in this respect that I would like to share my knowledge and experience with you regarding the action of Laser in Tissue. I had been using the Low Power Laser since 1985 and had been trained in Italy, UK and Germany regarding the Laser mechanism and how it works.

To fully understand how does the Laser work, one had to understand 2 aspects:
1. Principle and Laser Physics- whcih had been proven by Albert Enstein's Quantum Theory of
Relativity which we will not discuss in this paper.
2. The Photobiological Effects- ie the Biostimulating Effects demonstrated by Prof. Emdre Mester
from Hungary in his Clinical Research,

For the purpose of this paper, I will concentration the Biostimulating Effect of Laser Light - Biostimulation.
A. What is the difference of normal light compared to Laser Light?
B What are the Low Power Laser Tissue Effect?
C What are Phisiological Effects of Laser Light?
D Benefits of Laser Energy in Acupuncture.
E Indications of Laser Therapy.
F Contraindications.
G Acknowledgemnet.
